My question is, and maybe I should be in the newbie section since that is what I am, but I have a floor plan where all of the room names and room numbers show up well. In the finish plan, only about 5 of the total rooms show up with the tags. This work was started by a guy who left our office so I'm trying to educate myself on Revit, and figure out what he did. I check the Visibility/Graphics Override function under Element Properties and I see that Room tags is checked in the finish plan. I can't imagine that I would have to copy them from the floor plan into the finish plan would I?

Check the Volume of those Rooms. Sometimes when people are new to the tools, they don't realize that a room has volume as well as area, and so don't check to make sure that the room goes from floor to ceiling. Cut a Section through the rooms that are not showing up, go to your Visibility/Graphics settings and make Rooms visible, then double check to make sure that your rooms actually go through where your cut plane is for the finish plan. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the thought. I checked and the room definitely has volume. One thing I noticed when experimenting is that I can place a new room tag in the missing rooms and it will display correctly (with the correct room name and number). I wonder, is it possible that these were deleted for some reason from the finish plan but that they can still be visible in the floor plans? Brian

No doubt! Leave it to me to forget the simple answer. Yes, you can delete a room tag on one view and it will still show up on another.
