I am creating door and window families with interchangeable mutton patterns and 6 and 4 panel configurations for doors. I am using the on/off parameters to turn off the parametric mutton patterns an panel configurations that i have added to the door and window types. I have multiple on/off parameters (flush, 4 panel, 6 panel, etc...) for each family type. Currently my cad staff will have the ability to select multiple mutton patterns and panel configurations for each window and door instance which is ok as long as they only select one at a time. Other wise the windows on the elevations will show some funky mutton patterns. Is there anyway to use the formula column in the family types to limit the selection of the on/off parameters to one selection at a time. So if i have "6 panel" selected on my door type and I then select "Flush", the "6 panel" parameter would turn off. I am unfamiliar with the syntax for if then statements if they are even possible. Sorry so long.

This is where I would use a type rather than an instance parameter so I control it by type. I recognize that may mean more type definitions to go along with the sizes. I don't think that's bad because this may be part of the schedule and really reflects field nomenclature. They are different types in the field.

Yes i agree that they are different types in the field. You are completely right, but as far as our business is concerned our schedules do not need to reflect the different mutton patterns. For us it is purely cosmetic for our designers. We are a production home builder with 32 divisions across the nation and the specific mutton patterns are a spec level detail at each divisions I am trying to limit the number of types in our templates where possible while trying to balance accuracy at the same time. We only have about 8 window styles that we typically use but the different sizes and mutton patterns quickly increase the number of types to over 250 windows. You are right we may have to make all the different types, but i was just wondering if anyone has went down this road.
