I am tryin to figure out how to create a counter for my kitchen's and bathrooms. I was thinkin i should creat a wall to the hight of the counter, then added a slab over it. It would be great if someone could assist me with this part of my project...

Counters can be simple 2d or 3d families and be fixed size or parametric.  There are counter families in the download area that you can use or modify.  We model our counters just like they are built.  If we have under counter cabinets, the counter is modeled on top of those.  In some cases, you may have a short wall under part of the counter.

Counters can also be modeled as in place families - family type case goods.

We tend towards the inplace families as it give the flexablity of adding/ moving sinks. Otherwise you are stuck creating some super fancy family with multiple voids and parameters to size and turn them "off and on". For my money and time the inplace family is the better approach.

I agree w/NKramer. I've used roofs, floors, parametric families, and in place families and the later gives me much more flexibility.

If I am not using a countertop family, I use floors, they give me the flexibility so just edit and add/remove openings as well as material and height flexibilities. If you are planning on scheduling them though, this probably isnt the route for you.
