This is for a residential project with 3 different "levels" on floor 2 - from the stair landing, you step up two steps in one direction and three steps in another direction. Not enough level change or square footage to account for multiple floor plans just to show the RCP. In fact, they are all called "floor 2" and the floors are just offset the specified amount from the level height. Any tips on how to make the best use of the RCP tools? We would rather not split up the plans to make the fixtures and outlets work correctly at the correct heights. When I change the placement height of one outlet, it changes them all. Before we try to solve these issues I wanted to hear RevitCity opinions... I am using Revit Architecture 2008

Hi gigils Im a little cloudy on the problem sorry, what are the RCP tools that youve mentioned you'd like to make use of? Also, when you say that the placement height of fixtures all change together, it sounds like a Type parameter that could be an Instance one, or that you need to make a new type of component at the different level... Or Ive completely misunderstood you and am making ridiculous suggestions. Feel free to elabourate!

Thank you for your response. I actually figured something out that is working. I did not want to have to go in and revise all of the level-specific / floor or ceiling dependent components for such a small space. Instead, I made a level "room over garage" and placed these components, such as the outlets on the level rcp. they are showing up on the "2nd Floor" rcp with the correct cut plane but they are at the placement height specified in the "room over garage" level. This way the components act correctly and I can have one plan showing all the levels. Thanks again.

Sounds like you have a winning solution there! If there was a problem with the newly created level showing up on every section and elevation you could look at creating another type of level, with a more sublte (or absent) level head, and a thinned level line. Im a fan of having primary and secondary levels for FFL's or FL's, just an idea.
