Found this question was asked before, but no resolution.....

Is there a way to remove "Imported Categories" from a project or template?  Gets tiresome seeing the same obsolete categories in every job.

Just go to Settings: Object Styles: Annotation Objects or Imported Objects: select the subcatagory and delete it.

Is there no way to remove the imported object itself, only the subcategories?

Look at Autodesk Model checker or Ideate Explorer.

Try purging the template then uncheck all and then find what you need to remove and check those.

Thanks guys, I had this same problem today. However, even Purge Unused didn't show the rogue DWG!

Turned out you need a Revit addin to remove the imported category (type) directly. I tried different ones and only Dwg Explorer could do it. Others only work on imported instances.

This simple feature should have been part of Revit already!
