I've downloaded this elevator family object from revit city, but I have one question posted below. could anyone help? here is the link that i've downloaded the family object from: http://www.revitcity.com/downloads.php?action=view&object_id=4116 How do I show this same elevator core/shaft to have a opening on every level on a multi-story building without having to place this one elevator family object on every level? Because I have a section that cuts through the elevator core/shaft and it shows more than one elevator in the same core/shaft. thanks, ireyes p.s. I'm using Revit Architecture 2008 student version

What you need is a family that has doors & indicators as 3D models & the elevator car as a 2d detail. Send me a Email at john.aitchison@projectservices.qld.gov.au and I"ll sed you a family that should do the job for you. Best of luck John A

Hi Basically I've used the Elevator (Cab & Shaft 3D Family and extended it from "Bottom to Top" Family and then at each floor I insert Elevator Door Family. I have doors and a signle cab per shaft, in section and I see the cab in every floor plan (basically I beleive your height has to be at the top most level). HTH John

I've tried that solution, like you said you'll get a cab in every section. But I'll just have to live with that...... Thanks,

Hi,
for the next time you can also download Elevatorarchitect, a plug-in to easily create elevators inside Revit. After selecting the elevator you need it will show the elevator on every level. It shows the overall depth of the car and car doors on each level. A detaild representation of the car and doors are available on the lowest floor.
You can download it for free at http://www.digipara.com/DownloadEARevit.aspx
