Will9000, I don't think I understand the question. Can you post an image or clarify? Thanks, Tom

WITH A DORMER - i TRY TO CREATE IT AFTER I HAVE CREATED THE MAIN ROOF. I EXTEND THE 2 ROOFS TOGETHER TO FORM A VALLEY. THEN WHEN I TRY TO CUT THE OPENING WITHIN THE DORMER IT DOES NOT LET ME, IT COMES UP WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE. WITH THE DORMER I AM TRYING TO GET ALL THE FASCIA LEVELS TO LINE THROUGH. SO THERE WILL BE A TRIANGULAR SECTION OF BLOCKWORK ON THE ELEVATION WITH NO SIDE WALLS. DOS THAT MAKE SENSE?

Please see attached file which is part of a project, I am trying to get the dormers eaves to line through with the main roof, with blockwork to the sides of the window and also above. Revit will not allow me to do it Any ideas?

Use the opening tool to remove that section of the main roof that lies within the boundary of the dormer roof.
