I am trying to bring a sketchup model into revit so that I can get plans and sections of the project. Whenever I do a section cut it still shows everything behind the section cut line. Have a project do soon so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

put your project in 3D view and see if your sketchup model it's a different level from your revit model

I don't have anything that was built in revit. All I want to do is bring a completed skp model into revit and use revit to make the sections. I read somewhere in a forum that it might have something to do with it being a family and you can't section cut through a family. Any ideas?

Most sketch up models and imports of this type cannot be cut. I dont know how to fix it or if its even considered a bug. But from what I have seen/ found if it wont cut it wont cut. You would have to remodel any entities that you want cut.

When you draw the section line, there is a red dashed box on one side of the section cut.  Stuff in that box shows up in your section view so modify that box to your liking.
