I am on 9.1 and is trying to show concrete piers on a cellar level along a 12" foundation wall on the perimeter.  The piers are say 4" from the column flanges (see attached image.)

I tried with using concrete columns, but they don't clean up with the foundation walls.  the 2 piers shown are created with actual foundation walls and invisible linework.  But the corner one just won't work right as far as clean up goes.  I tried cut profile but seemed to only allow cutting but not adding beyond the wall boundry.  I don't want to fake it with fill region since it will actually cover part of my structural column.

this seemed like something that should be easlier achived, am I going about this all wrong?

thanks for any help.

have you tried an in place wall/floor family? see how this joins your wall.

Did you try using the Join Geometry tool to join the columns to the wall? It looks like you are trying to creat the same type of pilasters I have. I used 24"x24" concrete columns and ran my walls right through them. I then joined the columns to the wall, and the result is in the image I have attached. Your column material needs to be the same as the wall material or the join will not work properly (I think).
