Hello there,

I know there have been a lot of posts on this matter, but I can't quite seem to find my answer among them.  My question is this: how do I go about creating a Framing plan most quickly and efficiently?  We are needing our framing plan for 1st floor ceiling, 2nd floor, 2nd floor ceiling and roof plans.  The one thing I am not to 'keen' on using is the Structural Beam systems.  The reason being is I feel that this will make things harder than they are.  Because we have no desire to see the framing in 3D.  So is it a waste of time to try and use the Beam System tool?  Will that make it harder to create a framing plan?  Or should we just use Detail Lines in a new Framing view?   This way we don't have to worry about turning any 3D stuff off in our model in other views.

Am I making sense?  Does any one have any suggestions about how to accomplish this task?  I would really appreciate the help.

Best,Lorne

DGCAD had a video tutorial on this subject that was very helpful to me. It is or (was) one of his free vids.

Here is the link.

I should point out that dgcad / CADclips has a new video 'table of contents' and 'search' on the left hand side of this page below.
