Is there a way to to change the arc leaders for dimensions to either a straight line or two line segments like in AutoCAD?

Yup! The way to do this is to pick on your text. Go into the properties and you will see a toggle for "Arc Leaders". Uncheck it! Note that this is an instance parameter. (You will have to select every instance of text/leaders). HTH JB

This is working for text that is solely a text box, but not working for dimensions. I am not finding this option in the dimension properties box, or under the project settings.

Yeah the closest I've found is the ability to shut off the leader, and then draw it in manually; but then that takes ALOT of effort that really shouldn't be required.

Yes, hit "TEXT" in the design bar and up top you'll see 4 options in on the toolbar for adding just text, a leader w/ 1 line seg. and text, a leader w/ 2 line segs. and text, or an arc'd leader and text. Those options don't appear however unless you start the "text" command 1st.

I saw a demo of 2009 and unfortunately the arcs are still there in dimensions, but at least you can input something other than the dimension now in 2009. Maybe we can hope for line segment leaders come 2010.
