Is it possible to have a Tick and a Dot on the same dimension? Our company standard has always been to have a tick for the wall edge and the dot for the column line. Any thoughts?

I don't think you can do that on the same dimension. However you could use different dimesion strings with different dimension styles to acheive the same effect.

... a bit clunky but it works...

Create a detail component - a small square using invisible lines with a short, thin visible centerline called "Gridline Dot Workaround"

- Create a linear dimension type with a diagonal Cryingor whatever your standard is) for a tick mark and a dot for the centerline tick mark.

- Load the detail component "Gridline Dot Workaround".  Place the component in the view you are dimensioning. Align centerline of "Gridline Dot Workaround" with grid line.

- Dimension to "Gridline Dot Workaround", positioned over the gridline.  You will get your "dot" you've been looking for, while the end without the  "Gridline Dot Workaround" will remain a tick.

Do you have this detail component that you could share or upload?  I am trying to do this, but cannot get the <centerline> line type in the family...
