I have a logo that I was using as a rastered image. So to reduce the file size and to make printing easier I was going to trace it with filled regions and drafting lines. I did this within a project as a drafting view. The problem I am having is getting it from the drafting view onto the titleblock file or to create it as a annotative symbol to then be able to use at any point. It keeps telling me that I am not able to copy if it is not from sheet to sheet. Any ideas of getting this to work or am I going to have to redo this work with in the titleblock file itself?

How big / large is the image file? i have never had an issue in using raster images in my title blocks. You can always re-size an image in something like Paint or Corel / Photoshop. If it's a simple image with only a couple of colours then maybe reduce it to a 24 bit image rather than CYMK 32 bit... or even make it black and white. Tracing it in Revit with fills and lines would be a real ball ache.... Justin www.revitup.co.za

Well it really boils down to having to print raster vs vector which reduces size and time it takes to produce the prints. I have already done the work to use filled regions and drafting lines to reproduce the logo, but I unfortunately did it in a drafting view within a project instead of directly in the titleblock. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get it saved off as something that I can then load into the titleblock if it is not going to allow me to just copy and paste. Any thoughts? By the way I am using Revit Architecture 2008 latest build.

Ahh ok... how about selecting everything in the draft'view and then using copy to clipboard... you can then either paste it into another view, or into a new project..

That is what I have done. I have selected everything and copied to clipboard. The problem comes when I am trying to paste it to a titleblock. The error tells me that it will not allow it to be pasted if it is not sheet to sheet. It will however allow me to paste it inot another view. I have also tried to create a new annotative symbol family but it will not allow me to paste it in there as well from a drafting view. Is there another work around?

Wow great idea! That is exactly what I was looking for. That actually helps out in more ways than one. I hadn't yet gotten to the thought of needing that logo as line art for my autocad files as well. (for the caveman half of the firm that still uses AutoCAD.) Thanks again for the work around.
