If you have very little time, the best thing would be to go to a training course. You might try calling a traning location and see if they would let a student sit in for free. Tell them it is for an assignment and you might jujst luck out. other than that, all I can tell you is the best way to learn it is to immerse yourself in it. You can pick it up quick if you spend a lot of time with it each day. Check out some video tutorials on youtube and also check these sites out: http://www.caddigest.com/subjects/revit/tutorials.htm Go to the house tutorial and this would be a good start. http://www.cadclips.com/ With these, you can start with the beginner lessons and work up to the advanced http://www.augi.com/education/elearning.asp

Are you familar with construction documents? If so I would just jump right into Revit and try to get as far as I can with laying out a set of construction documents. The tutorials helped me when I came across a problem and you can get alot of help from this site by doing searches and asking questions.
