If this workaround is incorrect, then how do you create a demolition plan that shows the existing rooms and room tags?

So is the Autodesk solution of having the 2 overlapping views on the sheet with one "rooms only" view still the best emthod for this? It has been 5+ years since the last post in this thread...
Thanks!!

I have never had a problem and I don 't use the stupid overlapping views!
Reread the posts in this thread and learn how to use phases and phase view options!

I appreciate your willingness to help, but I think there is one difference in what you said and what the software does: rooms are NOT like walls - they do not persist across phases. Once you set the phase to New Construction, you lose all the existing rooms and cannot tag themDo you use Existing as the phase where your demolition occurs? That doesn't make sense and even if you do that and have the walls created and demolished in the same Existing phase, the rooms become "not in a properly enclosed region" because they are not there in the eyes of the program.
What am I missing or misunderstanding?

For anyone else interested, here (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/show-existing-rooms-in-quot-show-previous-and-demo-quot-phase/td-p/4723197) is a thread that describes what I am experiencing and a discussion of why it works this way and how to address it. The only soltuions are: 1. either to create the room tag only view and overlay it on the sheet or 2. copy and paste the rooms from the existing phase to the new phase.
