vray is great for artistic impressions but i prefer mental ray for photometric lighting and physical simulation of a real enviroment. Pretty vs Real, they both have their redeeming qualities and both faults. I have recently become a fan of of iRay for its simplicity and utlization of high end workstation horsepower and integration with mental ray materials and photometric lighting.

excellent description- good choice of words..
it takes a little render time in revit- but put those two illumination precision and illumination smoothness sliders all the way up to 10 and things get very real..
