Well, if i was you i create that roof by a normal roof by "Footprint" BUT with "Sloped Gazing " system like you can see in the image, there are lots of thread about this kind of Roofs/deck system in the forum, if you search you gonna find them....

nightsheep, did you try what typ said about sloped glazing??? if not you should it would work best probably for what you are needing.

like mrmoo said, you need to disassociate the plane. You can do this by clicking the symbol, like in the attached...then you should be able to move and rotate it wherever you want.

Ok, let see if all understand this, by the images he/she post, he/she create a "Roof by Extrusion" with a profile shape from the "East Side" to "West side" correct? So, he/she can disassociate the plane of that roof but he/she only can "Rotate" that roof in the "Work plane it was sketched in" which means he/she only can rotate that roof in the "plan view" or "East and West" elevation view and NOT in the "North or South" elevation view (which this is the views he/she need/want to rotate), that's why i told to use the "Sloped Glazing" system....

I don't disagree that sloped glazing works, but I do disagree about only being able to rotate in the orignal sketch view. Once he disassociates you should be able to rotate the object in any view. If a particular elevation doesn't give you the direction you want, you can always cut a section and rotate. Once you click the symbol (e), this issue of "Work plane it was sketched in" is null and void. I attached a quick simple example. My original profile sketch was drawn in the South elevation view. I do this kinda thing with extrusions in revit all the time. I would just click the icon and rotate the extrusion since he already has the extruded shape he wants.
