RPC trees are still 2D images which show when rendered and are a slightly more complex version of the original bi-axis files used in early rendering software. When viewed from above the image planes are perpendicular to your view and thus no image is rendered, however the Alpha channel is at an angle to the sun, so the shadows still display. In the past I have modified the RPC tree families in Revit to include a flat disc extrusion in plan that relates to the size of the canopy of the tree. This gives me a surface to either map an image onto or a visual reference to use when retouching in Photoshop.

wow- even people who have been using revit for a long time don't see how amazing MentalRay is.. forget about all the pasted on images- they all suck.. and forget about that dark gray sky that dulls everything in the view.. just set the background to color white and leave all defaults and render "screen"- "high"- and when it's done notice how the light and the shadows make your model look so real.. AccuRender could only dream of doing that..

Can Anyone Help me? I was Recently still using REVIT 2008 and now using 2009 at work. When I opened up my Existing project into 2009, I had to update and reload my bitmap textures and other custom surfaces...but for some reason, when I run an Interior Only Render, all the Ligthing comes out a bright Gold/Yellow and look just terrible...i can tell that my objects are textured the way they are suppose to but with all the odd lighting everything in the room looks GOLD...What am i doing Wrong here? This Version of REVIT is mostly the same as 2008 with the exception of the Rendering Tab. Im kind of stuck at this point and I want to be able to see if my colors and textures are coming out properly but its hard to know now.

You must check in the lights properties the "initial color" and change that if you want, also after the render you have the "Adjust Exposure" where you can "play" with those parameters until you reached the "Perfect" image...

I Hope and I Wish to LEARN more, and more, and more.... REVIT |
