This is a user error - not Revit.  If there is space between the pads it is because you left it there.

the better way to handle this is to split the topo and drop it down, or otherwise manipulate it. as far as roads are concerned, I have developed a method which works pretty well, although it is fairly complicated. see attachment. If you are doing a lot of site work, SiteWork, by Eagle point might be just the add on for you.

I had the same problem, but found out that if you set your pad elevation to the lower pad and slope up it goes away. For example, if you have three pads in a row: one at -10'. one sloping to the thrid, and the third at -3', then set the sloped one at -10' and use the slope arrow to make up the difference.

Believe in Typhoon: touching edges mathematicaly (snaping) is the answer. Your issue is due to a lack of precission. Pads sucks in this: when editing them, all other pad lines disappear. So u have to make all kind of reference lines to build them.

There is a kind of workaround to this problem. But it is limited.

When you add a pad, keep its reference level lower than the surroundings ans use positive offset from that level to position your pad in height. This way the infinitesimally thin plane of topo that erects between pads will still be there but it will protrude below instead of above. So, at least it wont show in the 3D view.

PS: Even this method might not work in cases involving lots of curves but still its something. Puh
