I'm resigned to the one processor dedicated to Revit, as I also have AutoCAD MEP 2008, Trane Trace, MS office stuff, etc. that I'm pushing since I won't be able to make actual contruction documents from Revit on this project.

coreed, Yes, I heard that this would only be temporary ... but I still would like to know how it is done - if it can be - because I sure don't see how you do it from the task manager.

open task manager go to the revit process. right click and go to the option set affinity. select a core.

you also will have to set the other processes to the other core, so that they don't use use the one Revit is set to/

Right but I would only really worry about the major applications you have open if you do it this way. Also if you do any renderings you'd want to open it back up to all of the cores. (because people say it multicores when rendering, at least accurender multi cores)

My understanding is that the new Mental Ray rendering engine makes use of multiple cores, but the modeling is still single core. zzz
