Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had a class where they have learned the Revit software in college (other than thoes from the University of Wyoming) If so please let me know who your instructor was/is, and what college/university it was. I am currently working on a educational thesis on Revit and learning it in college and need some more sources of information. As of yet I have found no other institutions other than UW that have any courses using strictly Revit. I have called a majorty of the top architecural and engineering schools and have came up empty handed. Thanks for the help. Grant Doherty

when I first learned about Revit I took a class at salt lake community college that taught me the basics, and it was specifically a Revit class, although, it isn't a university.

You know who would know would be Autodesk themselves since they would have sold them educational versions of the software and there would have been several copies sold...just ask them which universities they have standing orders with - I bet if you told them you were writing about their software they would be really helpful  I cant imagine there would be any sort of confidentiallity concern. Since Revit will transform our design world research in that teaching mechanism makes a lot of sense. I just had a summer intern in my office who went to OU in Athens and they did not have it but she wishes they did after using here. Good luck you! I go to Northeastern University and learned while working at a small office, however I am almost 100% that the Boston Architectural College and Wentworth University both offer classes in it. Hope that helps.

In Wisconsin I know that the MATC Campus, at least in the Madison area they taught a half semester on Revit. That may have changed since I took the course, which was 3 years ago.

I took a Revit Class From Brigham Young University Idaho the Instructor was Jon Brunt and Brian Blaylock.

Just a guess, Broncos4Life, are you located in Colorado. If so, lucky you. I took a 16 week Revit course CAD-224 at Front Range Comm College. The next semester starts in 3 weeks, and I have moved up to instructor. I'm not sure what kind of resources you hope to find, but here in Fort Collins (Northern Colorado) we are cranking out Revit opperaters at a rate of 50 a year or so. I have done guest lectures in the CAD-224 class, but this will be my first semester as the instructor. You might not think that a community college could produce the best opperators. Fact is, many of the students are already architects that need to update their skills to the new software.

I learned Revit Building 9 at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville last fall as part of the Residential Building and design class. We were supposed to migrate from Architectural desktop, but we started with Revit and exlusively used it for the semester. I have to say it helped immensely too as I have used it most of the summer for my internship.

I learned Revit at DMACC. Des Moines Area Comm. College in Iowa. My teacher was Mike Gatzke. http://arch.dmacc.edu/ Thats the web page he uses. Send him an Email. GoodLuck on the thesis. Jason

. Hello trainees, . I think if you are serious about learning REVIT in a reasonable amount of time you should invest in the REVIT Training Video Tutorials at www.CADclips.com. There are many free videos on he upper left hand margin of the web site to watch as well. . I have posted a free video tutorial series on creating custom families at the revitcity link below. . I learned Revit by tutorials and then as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a class taught by Gustavo Pardo, I'm not sure if they are still offering this course because the professor has moved on.
