I got all of those files from the Kohler website and imported to Revit. I uploaded all of the 3d files I could find on their website, you might want to check there... http://www.kohler.com

i think that most of your larger companies have dwgs or dxfs for download but i have never converted them to revit families. i do know that they are not parametric. hj may be able to explain what you need to do to convert them over to an rfa

If they do have them in dwg, they are not parametric...but they really don't need to be since they are specific items. To make a family out of it, you simply import the 3d dwg file into a family template file, set up the (non-size) parameters you need (ie. cost, manufacturer, etc) and save as a new family. I don't know of any other manufacturers that have 3d dwg or dxf files of their products, but I'm sure they're out there...

No Tubs But nice 3D-models in .dwg and .3ds format: http://www.hermanmiller.com/CDA/SSA/Category/0,,a4-c410,00.html What do you say about this one - something to place beside the tub?

I Googled for: residential-furniture ".dwg" download I found 1110 links... I have not looked through all of them But I think it is a bit hard to find .dwg-files... Here is one with a lot of stuff but it is .max not .dwg http://www.mr-cad.com/default.php?cPath=38

well you can import dwg & dxf files...and a lot of 3d programs can export to dwg. I know for a fact that Form-Z can and MaxLloyd's tutorial on revitcity says that you can export to dwg from 3DS Max...

I had a look out for free 3D-models. Many models are in the .max-file format. So I tried to search for a file-converter for .max to dxf or to .dwg. I did NOT find any! So if someone finds a free converter from max to dxf or dwg so please - the link! OK! I found something. http://www.neeneenee.de/vrml/downloads.html Here you can find seven converters but no free one for max to dxf/dwg There are free ones for 3DS to DXF/DWG Have a look around on this site. This site is for X3D eaarlier called VRML. Have a look also on eg. VRML-plugins some of them are for X3D and you can show your Revit 3D-model in a web-browser. There is a X3D-exporter for 3DStudio Max. This is not an easy world to master. It is a Babylonian-world but have a try... X3D is very interesting because it is a W3C STANDARD that can be used to save drawing in SECURE-.format because the drawings are saved as plain text readable in eg. Notepad. I REALLY hope that Revit will make it possible to export and also import in X3D-format. You can read more here: http://revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=520 X3D-tools you find here: http://www.web3d.org/applications/tools/ Here you can have a look for converters: http://www.3dlinks.com/links.cfm?categoryid=1&subcategoryid=11 And here are also converters not only for VRML: http://vrmlworks.crispen.org/convert.html Crossroads you can use to convert betwwen 3DS and DXF http://www.europa.com/~keithr/crossroads/ To find free models you can go to: http://www.3dlinks.com/ and Search for: free models and you will get some pages with links Just as an example: free .max-models: http://www.cad-com.net/cc_model_X.php And here free 3D-objects: http://www.3dlinks.com/oldsite/objects_free.cfm This converter perhaps is interesting to someone: http://www.cad2cad.com/en/dtpexpress.htm I have used it for converting DWG to EMF to import the EMF file into FLASH There is demoversions that can be used with a little smartness just deleting the demo.-text! If someone finds a DWG/DXF free converter to SWF the file format of FLASH I am very interested... The only I have found for DWG-to-SWF convertion is: http://www.vecta3d.com/ These furniture is not free furniture but they are for Accurender 3 - can be interesting for Revit 7 that will support Accurender 3: http://www.abscissa.net/views.htm
