if they didn't put that info in their profile to be posted, they probably want to keep that info private

The man can ask. Nobody has to reply. You don't have to answer for everyone, or make an assumption that speaks for the masses.
I hate it when idiots like coreed reply just to make someone feel like their question was not worthy. Perhaps some people are willing to share where they are from, but just never filled out their profile. It is not up to coreed to answer for everyone in this forum.
Did you ever think that allstate45 may have been asking as an icebreaker for someone to socialize with? This is a community, and it is nice to be social once in a while.
I am from Boston, MA. Yes it is in my profile, but I don't mind sharing.
Thanks for being personable allstate.

no prob.
I often wonder how many Revit users live in MA, mostly because I want to know how many other architecture firms are using Revit. I keep getting job offers from other local firms (Boston has a close knit architecture community) and it seems that these days firms are descretely trying to snatch up Revit users from other firms on the down-low. It seems that it is a good time to be a revit user in Boston! I bet any qualified Revit user that moves to Boston could get a serious raise.

I just started using Revit the first of the year. I work for my teacher that quit teaching to start up his own firm. I got choosen to be the one to use Revit. So I am learn on my own. Business is slow but as long as keep getting payed i dont mind. But hopefully be the end of the year we have enough of work that we can expand our firm.

Wow. Learning Revit on your own can be a handful. Especially because there are no real good books or resources on Revit.
I was fortunate to have a trainer come to our office and do a week of training, and then a few weeks later a more advanced class for family building and other advanced features. He was amazing. He just put out a vBook that you can preview at the following wesite:
http://auto.retrieve.com/revit/BookFrame.spr;jsessionid=56D11BB4A0B26BD1E9E1E7D04535FA99
go to the free preview section on the left to see if you think it would be helpful, maybe you could get your teacher to buy the vBook (videos) for you to learn from.

coreed, i do kinda feel the same way that the others do, its not exactly what you say, but the tone. Although you were right, just nothing wrong with people being sociable.
also this has nothing to do with this. did u get my e-mail and if not, i posted my residential and architectural firm in the gallery. please give some feed back if you don't mind. Again....we're all here for learning..(experience, and mistakes).
thanks

From Mableton, GA. Live in Mableton, GA. Work in Acworth, GA. All in USA for those outside of the states.
Just south of SC border huh? I'll have to swing by on my next trip to Wake Forest. I'll see ya around SPSU sometime next year, eh?

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Sure...I actually went to SPSU yesturday for a campus tour. I was very pleased and loss of words when I went into the architecture building. I know its the right career for me, the only thing thats holding me back is my SAT scores, but I will have new results at the end of this month. I may go to the Georgia Highlands College at SPSU, do my core classes and then transfer. But SPSU is definitly the place for me.
Feel free to stop by anytime. I'll send you an e-mail with my phone number. Thank you for your interest. I really want to be an architect, and I am willing to take the time to learn, and be trained.
