It seems impossible to make all walls join correctly. What's the method you use to make the incorrect joints looking good graphycally on the sheets?

thank you,

It is entirely possible.  Please read your HELP here.

Yeah, thanks for the link. I mean, how we fake it... some walls just take too long to fix.

It takes awhile to understand how wall joins work so keep trying to learn rather than faking.

The biggest problems are:

  • not understanding wall layers (see layer function - here )
  • sketched walls (sketched walls cause wall join problems.   splitting the wall horizontally to remove a sketch area often helps.)
  • having one wall try to join another wall that is a different height ... and possibly with different walls above or below.  Again, splitting the wall horizontally can help here.

When you are using the wall joins tool, pick only the 2 walls to be joined then use the temporary eye glass to isolate them first.

. . . . I might also add that when walls are 'Attached' to roofs and floors both Above and Below can cause problems that I have founf not fixable and just live with an ugly none mitred connection. Taking the 'Attach' aspect off temporarily just to see if it helps will reveal it is what's causing the anomoly.

Thank you guys. Do you feel like stacked walls are worse than regular walls on joining each other?

A stacked wall is really 'stacked' wallS.  More than one wall so a stacked wall that is 20' high joining a single wall that is 20 ' high will have problems like I discussed earlier.  THis is where you can horizontally split the single type of wall so that it can join differently with the different portions of the stack.

I think stacked walls are great for beginning of a project but I typically break them up when I'm in construction documents.

I see how you guys deal with that. I was quite in a dilemma between using staked walls & regular walls. I have stacked walls from day one but more toward to split them to regular walls, but was wondering if it's worth to do that since it will take some time.

Thank you!

My experience with Stacked Walls (that are left intact) is to not expect perfection unless under very basic conditions.

It takes no real time to 'brek up' stacked walls.   Just right click on them and choose "break up".

Do room seperatiion lines affect wall joints? For the project's purpose I have to draw some room seperation lines overlapping with walls. Will it affect?

I tried to delete those lines and join the walls. It doesn't seem helping. Anybody has past experience on this?

Thanks,

Room seperation lines have no affect on wall joins.   You have other issues - probably above or below your field of view.
