Is there any way to eliminate the space between a coded note and it's leader line?  My boss started marking it up to make sure the leader line touches the coded note and I cannot figure it out.  Thanks!

Thanks for the link, but I spent almost an hour looking through the threads before posting in the forum and although I found leader lines with text questions, as the one you linked to, I did not see any referring to coded notes.  Therefore, I posted a question.

I'm sorry, I should have been clearer.  The answer is the same.  Assuming you are using the correct text alignment (left justified for left leader, right for right), this space is hardwired in Revit and can not be controlled.  Your boss will not like the answer - live with it.

With text object, try ‘leader/border offset’ in type properties. With keynotes, try ‘box size’ in type properties, even though you might not have a box.

Thank you pijpiwo, that definitely helped with the text.  Unfortunately it doesn't look like the coded note has that option in the type properties.  But I appreciate your help.

Sorry, for some reason I thought you’re talking about the keynotes.

Can you post a family, so we can play with it? Are you using labels for your coded notes. Label’s leader can be kinda controlled. I know WW mentioned it’s hard wired, but I’m not 100% clear what you’re after. There might be a way or work around after all.

Hey mdlc516,

See attached, is this what you were wanting? If so what I did was change the 'Broken Section Display Style' from "Gapped" to "Continuous". See image.

To access this...

Go to Manage Tab > Additional Settings > Section Tags

Bear in mind the text makes the size of the tag change, which affects the leader line starting position.

Kind Regards,

Shatner86

Shatner86 unfortunately I can't open the file as it looks like you have a newer version iof revit than I do (I have 2013).  I did make the adjustment in the Manage Tab as you said and it didn't seem to change anything with my coded note.  Does my coded note qualify as a section tag even though it is an annotation?

I really appreciate your help on this.

It doesn’t work with both number and note visible, but I’m guessing just a number will be displayed and the note will go to the schedule.

Hi mdlc516,

sadly you are working on the one revit version I don't have access to, I have 2012, 2014 and 2015... sigh.

Anyway, see the image attached? Is this what you were wanting?

If so, see the second image image. You need to place your circle on the centre of the insertion point. Then change your "Sheet Note"'s 'Vertical Alignment' to Middle. Then position your text so that it is centre (vertically I mean) onto the insertion point.

This will allow the leader line to remain in the correct location for the leader line if it is on the left. I'm not sure if it is possible to make it work in the other direction.

Kind Regards,

Shatner86

Shatner86, that worked!  Thank you SO much!  The leader works from all sides.  Exactly what I'm looking for.
