I need some feedback on some families I've created. My link is below. Sorry, images only, not looking for feedback on modeling techniques. Just interested how useful creating a healthcare revit library is. Link below my signature.
Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks! I may even upload one or two of these if the responses are good!

"Just interested how useful creating a healthcare revit library is"
It reall depends on who is going to use it all the time. I work with healthcare facilities and unless I am doing a rendering I typically just use symbolic lines to show equipment. Mainly because if I modeled everything my model would be huge and also healthcare equipment is very manufacture specific and that is all usually take care of by the owner.

At my previous firm we would link an "Equipment Model" that located the families that we could just load/unload, or had templated settings so they'd be turned off (unchecked) in certain views so it wouldn't bog down the views in the model. Most of these families are pretty small, under 350Kb-400Kb each. I've seen chair families in the 1Mb range with less detail. It all depends on efficiently using the software I think. Granted, you pop in something like a C-Arm and it'll weigh the model down, but even my "extremely detailed" models right around 2Mb. (see attached - this entire model is only 2.1Mb and I didn't even compact it, plus it was made in RVT2011!)
I showed a couple models off to a CEO of a hospital the other day. He and his team got pretty excited at the idea of seeing all that equipment in color instead of a bunch of "square lines" everywhere that they normally see on plans. I've had hit and miss experiences with different CEO's though. You're right though, some don't care, they just want a price.
Thanks for the input teafoe!

Your revit families look very precise and realistic. I am sure that a few architectural offices / hospital planning firms will find them useful.
Good luck with your work.

Any chance you'll put the revit models of the entire rooms online too?
