i was wondering if u wouldnt mind giving me some feedback on my renderings. its my (crappy) design for an athletic center in downtown LA for an architecture class. First is a general perspective view of the building. the second 2 images are a rendered view of the ceiling trusses and a model view of the trusses. why dont the trusses appear complete in the rendering? i have tried changing the thickness of the ceiling glass (floor slab) and it doesnt seem to help....

Did you try to "Zoom" the camera and render and check if the trusses appears????

For your truss issue, try changing your detail level to high. i susspect its set to corse at the moment, meanng your structural members will be stick lines.

I don't think its the glass, but you can confirm this by hiding the glass in view and doing a quick render. I think that Space was correct. If the detail level is set to medium, you can see the members as lines in the model but they will not render unless the detail level is set to fine.

I would recommend rendering to a printer size (ie. 150 dpi) for your final renderings. It might take a lot longer but the results are incredibly better.

does anyone have any feedback for me on my rendering (attached). attached is both the rendered version and the model version. i feel like the inside of the building is too dark which is why you cant see all the detail like the desks and chairs. the glass looks really blue but it actually isnt, for some reason everythign looks too dark. do u recommend that i put downlights on the ceiling? i just want the inside to be brighter but i dont want to indicate specific light fixtures (too much detail for this level of drawing).

sorry, i should have been more clear in my previous post. I tried putting in pendant lights (linear ones) as well as ceiling-lights (linear boxes). the rendering shows the light but for some reason, they dont light up the room, even though i am rendering them with sunlight AND artificial lights. Also, i tried editing the family (light source definition > light distribution) but this doesnt change the rendering. the renderings are still too dark. see attached.

"treadmill has a really glossy running pad" - Change the material for the pad. About the lights, try to increase (double) the Wattage of the lights and change a little bit the transparency of the glass (exterior)....

Hi,fixybopixy. (sorry to hijack your tread) I also have the same problem as you. Interior images appear to be too dark. Had tried to put in more light fittings and tweaking the wattage to be higher but it doen't seems to help. By the way, I am trying to render an interior image that show how a room will look like under daytime situation (afternoon sun) End up, having to remove the ceiling in order for the sunlight to get in, so that the whole room get lighted up naturally. Any forum members can guide me on that ?
