i can not seem to pdf all my sheets to one document. i can not selectthat option under the print menu. i defaults to single sheets for output. is there a way to change this that i am not aware of.

Revit cannot handle mulit-page PDF printing that I am aware of. Maybe Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional is up to the task. In any case, you can simply combine the separate PDF's into one using the full version of Acrobat or the PDF995 Suite.

Or you could use Free Pdf XP
PDF4Free creates PDF files from any Windows application running on Windows NT (SP3+), Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. The software installs itself as a print driver, all you have to do is to click "Print" from your application to create PDF files. PDF4Free is complete freeware PDF creator. Users may create PDF files as many as they want. However, the features of the software are limited to PDF creation with font embedding, title, subject, author, keyword information embedding. The software is free ONLY for personal and noncommercial use. Anyone who wishes to use the software for business and commerce should purchase PDF4U family products.

I don't believe there is a PDF programme that will automatically append you printed pages to a single file.
Its typically something we do manually. And no Acrobat Professional doesn't do it either...

With freepdfxp get a dialog when you print to that printer. You then can click a button that says something like "add to next". So when you have to have 6 pages in to 1 pdf document, you have to click 5 times on the "add to next" button and then on the save button.
I think that's the sollution to your problem. And the good thing: it's free.

I see.
Doesn't seem any quicker to me if you still have to manually sit there and click each time you want to add a page...
I can't imagine it would be much of time saver than to just combine the pages afterwards.

Unless I am not understanding the question, the Revit PDF Writer 4.2 (Pinebush) has this ability. Unfortunately, this was replaced in Revit 8.0 by the Autodesk DWF Writer. Since it was installed with Revit version 7.0 as a system printer, it remains on my computer to this day and I still can enjoy the use of it.
I have attached a screen capture of the print dialog box and will follow up with a screen capture of the drop down menu listing all the sheets which can be added.
It appears that Autodesk is preparing to take on Adobe in the digital print arena with their DWF Writer.

I've never considered the Pinebush PDF writer a valid option due to its super large print margins which generally result in most of our titleblocks being chopped off...
But agreed, yes it does have this ability...

BEWARE I've had problems with the Pinebush PDF Writer not accurately printing line weights.

Are you better off exporting to autocad and converting to pdf from there?

I was just doing a search, and I ran across this old post. Bluebeam PDF Revu can print all of your sheets into a single pdf file.
