The prices don't reflect the mail-in rebates, so it's not as expensive as it seems...plus "World of Conflict" comes FREE! bauhaus1919, your right the price is really good when you consider the $50 savings for all the free shipping and then the mail in rebates, wow, they are practically giving it away.

Oops, I messed up. I lost track of my SATA ports. With the expansion card there are 14 total. One has a Blu-ray burner and one has the solid-state 64GB boot drive, so there should be only 12 of those storage drives, not 13. That will bring that subtotal down to $10,310.63. Unfortunately it will also drop your storage capacity to 9TB. You could either make the jump to 1TB drives or you also have two open eSATA ports when you run out of room. Just don't get 13 of those WD Caviars...Man! I hope you get this message before you order everything.

But with the failure rate of the WD drives you really should buy 30-40 of them anyway. I would really max out your budget on spare drives to keep the storage capacity up.

Personally, I'd go with the Intel Core2 Extreme QX9775 LGA771 Processor 3.20 GHz, 1600FSB, 12MB L2 Cache ***Free Shipping** so you don't have that annoying bottleneck with only a 1333 FSB. Other than that, I like it a lot.

Good call....didn't see that one. The board's good to go 1600, might as well give it what it wants.

Didn't think that the cooling solution was high end enough. Do you think a thermo-electric system might be needed? APC SUA750I 8 Outlets 750 VA 500 Watts / 750 VA UPS/Backup System Retail You never know when the power will go out an you lose all that precious work. I was going to suggest a generator, but that would be overkill.

I just looked closer at the 2 speaker I chose and it needs to be scrapped. I'm thinking these are a reasonable choice at just under $160: Klipsch ProMedia GMX A-2.1 Superior Performance Audio System Retail

I don't think that "reasonable" fits with the OP's request for "high end"

WOW ! A $10K PC. I don't know if this is within the buyer's price range ? Also, you recommended a 64bit version of Win XP but then you chose 2GB RAM. The ONLY reason to use the 64bit OS is to use RAM over 3GB up to 64GB. The ones we have at the office are 64bits using DELL 690 with 8 or 16GB RAM.
