Revit Architecture 2008. When rotating a view on a sheet is it possible to stop the view title rotating as well? Its a little pointless if you can't? (I did post this without a subject so sorry if there is a double up!) Thanks

I don't even know how you did this .... unless - did you put your title in the view? When you place a view on a sheet, the title is placed there. The view is rotated withing the view window or when you are just in the view.

you can't stop the titl rotating but you can create a detail/symbol family that looks just like your view title and place on sheet...

WWhub, Thats exactly what I need to do. Can you please let me know how you have achieved this without having to create a rotated view title? Thanks

Moose, Simple. - From a view (or if the view is already on a sheet - right click and activate view)
- turn on the crop boundry & select it
- click on the rotate icon & rotate the view.
NOTE: The process is backwards from what you think. After you have adjusted you rotation point, pick your alignment angle first (horizontal / vertical) then select the angle in the view you want to move.

Ok. I actually know about this one, however what I was trying to achieve is using the rotate view on sheet without rotating the view title. If you rotate the view using this method you are rotating the parent view. I want to keep the parent view as is and only rotate the sheet view. From what I have read from other responses it looks like the only way to achieve this is to create a rotated view title that suits. Thanks to all who responded. Looks like this could be another one of those simple things that Revit gets you frustrated about. Hopefully the next release will have this sorted!

I guess I don't understand.... it sounds like you want all of the text - dimensions - tags - whatever to be rotated with the view. Why? (I sure can't come up with a reason but ????) If you don't want to rotate "the parent view" then just duplicate the view with detailing and rotate that.

Moose, to make life easier I have attached a view tag for you to use, you can amend it to look like yours...

yes go blue boys! I think there was some misunderstanding initially when I was asking about the rotate view on sheet. Just wanted to keep the view (sheet title) horizontal and not rotate with the view. I'd have to look back through it to see what the outcome was as I cant really remember now!! getting old mate! As for 2009, have not gone live yet. looking to get it up and running start of next month. Should be good. read a bit and sounds like there are a couple of handy additions now. I'll have a look at the view tilte roate thing and let you know
