At least from what I can tell, in 5.1, radial arrays are just to turn an object on it's own axis rather than to array an object along a radial path. Hopefully this will be an option in 6.0 which comes out on the tomorrow!

hey hiroshi. did revit 6 ever solve this one? we are trying to model the rafters underneath a blend roof form... and hoping we will not have to model each one individually: any idea how we can array the rafters but have them rotate iteratively along the building? Thanks... Emma
