I'm currently working on a Revit project which has 4 linked files:

1: Central Architectural Model

2: External companies structural

3: My electircal model

4: Mechanical Model

Currently all the in house models line up perfectly and the external companies strucural model has to be moved to match our grid.

The client has requested that we move all our models to match the structure’s coordinates.

What is the best way to do this? I’m very scared of breaking associations with walls etc especially in the electrical model.

Thanks for any help.

Structures coordinates?   By this my assumption is you mean project coordinates but you could also mean survey coordinates.

If you mean the above and the linked structural model appears correctly in your model, you may be able to simply acquire coordinates from the structural model.   You will have to do this for all of your models.

You can learn more about project and survey points by watching this video:

Remember to make a backup copy of your central and anything you try can easily be undone.

Sorry yes an external comany is doing the strucural steel model and the clinet want our project cooridinates to match this model. I'm presuming their's must use the actual building coordinates.

I'll watch the video now. Thanks.
