We do large big-box retail, often using prototypical models developed by other firms. These models tend to get heavily laced with components/families. When trying to place a family already in the model, the list that we have to browse through to find that family is very long.
Short of going down to the family list in the project browser (also very long) and inserting a family from there, a new component/family browser window would be a real nice added feature. Adding a search option in that window would be the icing on th cake.

If you right click on Families in the project browser you get an option to Search.
