Hello all! For the past three days I'm trying to create a new family for my work. I'm in the jewellery shop design business (have my own little business) and for the past 7 months Revit has been an invaluable tool as far as my interior design presentations to the client is concerned. Part of my business is also the creation of jewellery stands and here comes the challenge. When I tried to design a family of jewellery stands for necklaces, so that I can enrich my interiors with more detail, I found that I lack the knowledge and experience to create such a shape (I attach an example photo of one o my products).

Is there a way of creating such a shape in Revit or another software would be more suitable say Maya? (Not that I know how to use it)

I would appreciate any kind of feedback from a way to do it to ideas on how to get such an object! Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

not so much creating a shape as there are shapes. Break it up, the base would be an extrusion. The body could be one too, cut with a void extrusion and the neck could be a Blend.

I did a very rough revit model (attached) of how I explained it above. It can be smoothened out by joining the shapes and applying the same materials to all shapes.

Hope this helps you out some,

J

Great approach J, and thank you for answering, I will try exactly what you said. It makes sense breaking the shape up! I will apply the same approach to my other products as well. Many thanks again.
