I want to create a new detail item tag by modifying the standard one. I want the tag to display the family and type. I've done this with other tags but this one is different. When I pick the tag and "edit family", the tag's file opens. I want to add a label. I pick home>label and clike on the desired spot. None of the available "categaory parameters" is the family and type. How do I make those available as label parameters. attached is a view of the "edit label" window in the tags .rfa file

The idea is to be able for details, sort of like keynoting, to just clik on a detail item and have it display on the drawing.

I don't think it can be done (I'm on R'09 however)
I just use the 'comments' parameter instead, or you could creat a bespoke shared parameter.

There has to be a way. attached is an example of a tag I just made that displays the name of the family and type (for a window). I just want to display the family and type names on the detail component tag

Use shared parameters, make sure the SAME parameter is in your label of your tag, AND is a parameter in your detail component. See example family that hopefully attaches.
Well, this is how you make your own, which is the route you would have to go. Each family and type would have to store in a text file its family and type. Why? Dunno, because as you discovered, you CAN for other families, but detail components are rather limited in which information they gave us access to.

If I am in the family which is the Detail Item Tag, how do I add to it a new shared parameter? ( in this case called "family". All detail items have a "family" and "type". I just want the tag to have a label line called "family" and "type"
