From reading around on these forums, it seems that many of us agree: Groups can cause a lot of problems & headache.

Groups are unarguably the most powerful & vital tool for doing any building with repetition.  Whether you're repeating a roof awning, a dwelling unit, or an entire floor plan - groups speed up the process exponentially... IF they work properly.

Why is it then, that Autodesk Revit comes up seriously short in this department? Our office has wasted days correcting problems & researching how to avoid these problems in the future (no mirroring?!, no model lines?, no in-place families? no wall joins?)...  To me this is unforgivable & I hope the problems are resolved as soon as humanly possible.  I like Revit (for the most part), but Autodesk needs to spend less time giving their software an annual coat of fresh paint & more time overhauling major problems...

 Does anyone else agree?

PS: Our office is on Revit Architecture 2010.  I will be installing 2011 today.

Groups are very powerful.  There are some quirks you have to learn but we still use them a lot.  Keep using them and you will learn the limits.  BTW - I don't have any problems with wall joins and in-place families are not meant to be copied to multiple locations even when not in groups.
