When I show demo and existing in plan view it shows a gap between the two walls.  But there is no gap in any other views. (just showing existing/3d views) Why does it do this?  What can I do to fix this?

Not sure how you created the two walls, but it might work if you create one wall, use the split tool and then demo your wall segment.  Hope that helps.
