Newbie here - How do I remove the line between column and wall? the column is concrete, while the wall has a structure of masonry and concrete for finishes. i've tried using structural columns but the material overlaps with the wall. is there a clean way to do this or am i just missing something?

Turn of wrapping at ends on your wall type, the use join geometry.

thanks for the reply sdbrown, whenever i use join geometry, the column absorbs the material of the wall. is there a way to keep the column material as is and have a clean elevation? after all the finish of the wall is the same as the material of the concrete. there is a workaround that i found, instead of using columns i'll use thick walls as to build my column and unjoining geometry. it shows up the way i want on plan and in elevation (see attachment). but is there a possible problem with this workaround? especially when coordinating drawings with engineering consultants?

There are two different columns in REVIT. One works like a pilaster and will take on the material of the wall. The other is structural and you set the properties. Use the correct one and you won't have any problems.
