Hi, is there any way to move the dynamic (spin) view origin. If I'm spin-viewing a corner of a building where the origin is miles away then the view both rushes past me and the spin angle is very narrow, as if the model was connected to a pivoting lever about 100ft long (which, according to Revit, is exactly what is happening). Can I move the view origin to the corner of the room that I'm looking at? Thanks.

That is really a good question. Exactly what I am looking for too I do not think it is possible Using shared coordinates - dividing the scene in several scene-files perhaps can make your life a little easier - but it is not an answer to your question - just a tips...

To get around this I usually create a new 3d view, turn on the section box and adjust the box limits so only the detail I'm working on is visable. Revit uses the centre of the section box as the origin for the dynamic view spin.

The default "3D" view uses the extents of the project to determine center of rotation. Revit was set up this way intentionally with the understanding that users would create their own 3D views of their project as needed. Spinning/rotation done in these user created views uses the focal point of these 3D views as the center of rotation. Just turn off the crop region. Add an overall User 3D view to your project template and it's always available as well. Post edited on 2004-10-07 11:17:09
