I am a student using Revit 2014. I am wanting to make a roof system as shown in the attached image, but I am having trouble figuring out how to make one roof object. I attempted joining two seperate roofs, but have not had any luck. How would i go about creating one roof? Any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated.

g'day.
create a reference plane along the hip line you require in a plan view.
under architecture, look along the ribbon for opening,
then select vertical opening.
select the reference plane you just made and the lines representing the piece you want to cut out.
trim up using fillet trim/extend tool.
and click on the green tick, and you are done.
