I just found a simple solution to a problem thats been a pain in my side for years. if you want to annotate a slope arrow onto a ramp simply set a slope arrow on an object on your project, it doesn't matter what it is. The copy that slope arrow onto your ramp, as you drag the arrow over the ramp it will highlight the run of the ramp and you can select the "nearest" point. Somehow that picks up the slope...

I just saw this.... good tip except it doesn't work if you first place the slope arrown on a flat surface. The NO SLOPE will not change so I just created a temporary rectangle floor with a slope arrow and placed my annotation slope arrown on that and dragged it onto my ramp. I sloped the temp floor the wrong way but no problem - the slope arrow reversed.
You can do the same thing with spot elevations.
