I downloaded some stadium lights from the downloads on this site, and when I loaded it onto my project and rendered it with artificial lights only, everything was black except for the small yellow circles of the lightbulbs. How can I illuminate the field? I went into "Family Types" and changed the wattage/angles but nothing changed. Can anyone tell me what's going on here? I attached the family I'm using since I edited the wattage, etc.
Thanks!

Your light source is inside a "glass" material bulb. Check out the material settings for glass in your project or better yet, change the material for these bulbs to something with a unique name - and give them a 100% transparency as well as glow.

Thanks WWHub... I tried that and it didn't work. I very well could be doing it wrong though (I'm new to Revit). I tried editing the Family Types then went to Light Fixture Material and made a new material "Glass 2". I adjusted the self illumination and transparency to 100% and gave it a glow... am I on the right path? I tried editing both in the project (selected the family and edit type) as well as opening the family and trying to edit the material there. Am I close?

CHAsports, the family actually works, but the main problem was the light source definition in the nested family. I changed it to Circle with IES photometrics and assigned it the spot ideal ies file that comes with Revit. Then I changed the lumen output to 20,000 (it was set at 1800, which won't do much to dispel the darkness). I also got rid of the glass bulb as it is a classic case of over-modeling, and moved the light source a little further forward in the fixture head. I did a quickie rendering showing that it does cast light in renderings, but I suggest you find a more appropriate ies file from the lamp or fixture manufacturer as the lumen value may still be too low. See attached rendering. Edited family also attached. HTH.

Still having problems... I changed the IES file to stadium lights I found and they're still not bright enough (not bright at all actually). Any other suggestions?

The photometric file determines the distribution of the light, not the lumen output of the Revit light object. The Initial Intensity value is still set at 1800 lumens, which is about the light output of a 120W halogen Par 38 flood lamp. This value tells Revit how much light to give out from the light object. A bunch of 120w par lamps just won't light a stadium. Google the exact lamp type you are planning to use in this fixture and find out what its lumen output is, and put that number into the Initial Intensity field. Also see if you can find the manufacturer's photometric file. Where did you find that ies file? It doesn't have the kind of shape I would expect to see for stadium floodlights.
