I downloaded a column from the downloads section...but edited the family to make it look like more of what's going into the real-world project. When uploaded and placed into the project, the sweeps are not aligned or attached to the column. The pictures tell the store, and I have also atatched the actual Column file. Any help is appreciated in advance! JZ

The crown molding at the top is out of alignment as well...and I didn't adjust/change that.

Your geometry is not constrained. You need to fix your geometry to reference planes using the align command, and locking. This is family creation/modification 101. Do you know how to properly constrain elements within a family? The order of families (this is how they should be built) 1. Reference Planes 2. Dimensions 3. Geometry Do you need additional help?

Thanks for responding. I can't seem to add reference planes in the column family file. It has some already...and i can associate the individual trims to them, but I the reference plane button is "grey". Any suggestions?

Mybe you can create additional reference planes with the greatest Revit command inthe world. Create Similar. You might have this command in the right-click menu, otherwise, the shortcut should be 'cs'

Just tried to do that, and it did not work. When right clicking, "Create Similar" is greyed out.
