Well ..heres my problem.. i have a limited budget!! due to the fact that im a student...this last semester i used a Sony Vaio VGN-Fe850Fe and my proyect had lots of geometry so ...my laptop kept crashing and just couldnt make a single decent render...soo heres my situation do i buy A) Imac 2.4 GHZ intel core 2 duo 4gb and 500 gb hard drive orrrrrr B) Hp quad core 2.2Ghz, 8gb ram ,500 gb hard drive,... the reason i post is that this hp has better specs but ive heard that the imac even with lowers specs might run better Revit .... besides ive never been a mac user before and... i just hated when vista crashes or runs out of RAM..also Mac Pro is not an option its out of my budget Thank!! any comment will help!!

The iMac is such a great, beautiful machine but you will have to purchase Parallels Desktop 4.0 to run Revit on Vista (64bit-recommended) It's 80 bucks, maybe less with a student discount! I have had much success in running Revit (zero crashes) and I have the exact same specs as the iMac one you described. Just be sure to dedicate at least 2G of RAM to the Windows platform.

You'll get more out of your setup if you use Apple's own Bootcamp (comes free with any new Mac) to boot into Windows when neccessary, instead of running a virtual machine. If you do it like that you can run any Windows application you want.
